Benchmarking capacity extended

SPX capacity building and particularly benchmarking capacity building is one of the key objectives of the South African SPX programme. In this regard the SPX office trained various members from the associations who are actively participating in the SPX programme as well as various benchmarkers in the provinces.

The objective of this training is to have trained benchmarkers in the various regions who can conduct benchmarking and follow up support in the provinces without having to send someone from Gauteng.

This regional benchmarking programme is supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST).
UNIDO recently trained benchmarkers in Mpumalanga and the Northern Cape. These benchmarkers are now actively contacting companies to benchmark and interested companies are requested to contact UNIDO so that we can refer you to the relevant organisations in the provinces.

The benchmarking is part of the process of linking local suppliers to buyer opportunities. Development support is also available to companies after the benchmarks have been completed.
